Sunset

Both in the case of Sunset and I’m like you, landscape served as a basis around which the textual narrative was built. Both works come to life as an error by manual repetition and aim to increase the artificiality in creating an image out of a motive originating in nature. The artificial sunset was created  by scanning the negative of a failed photograph and multiplying it.

On the glass surface of the frames, the words νόστος (nóstos) and ἄλγος (álgos) are engraved, which are Greek words for returning home and pain, in turn forming the word nostalgia.
